During the visit of Markus Söder, Minister-President of Bavaria, to Egypt, a letter of intent was signed between Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Dr. Florian Herrmann, Head of the Bavarian State Chancellery and State Minister for Federal, European, and Media Affairs. The aim is to boost bilateral cooperation in the field of hydrogen and liquefied natural gas. Egypt’s interest in promoting the green hydrogen economy is highlighted by the national strategy, which aims to increase renewable energy to 42 percent of the total energy generated by 2030.
