Business Opportunities

The region is characterised by agriculture and a large proportion of the population is employed in (subsistence) farming. This offers great potential for Bavarian companies to increase productivity and boost local value creation. The most important agricultural products include maize, sugar cane, tea and coffee. While maize and sugar cane are mainly grown for the domestic market, tea and coffee are the region's most important export goods. 

East Africa offers excellent conditions for the expansion of renewable energies, particularly solar and wind energy, and is suitable for the production of green hydrogen in the future. Tourism, transport and infrastructure, energy and pharmaceutical sectors offer further important business and investment opportunities in East Africa.
